Jin Han to headline new drama Hello Prosecutor opposite Sun Yi

After charming the audiences with his first leading role in Our Glamorous Time 你和我的倾城时光, it looks like Jin Han can bid his days as a villain goodbye as he lands another leading role in Hello Prosecutor 你好检查官.

Sun Yi plays the heroine who will foray into the justice system as a young prosecutor.  It's a pair that I wouldn't have thought of, but one that could prove to have wonderful chemistry. A big part of what made Jin Han so convincing as the leading man was how perfect he was for the role of Li Zhicheng. I feel that playing a man of authority in a story about prosecutors seems right up his alley whereas Sun Yi has already won me over since Siege in Fog. 

There were previous rumors of the main couple being Hu Ge and Sandra Ma, but didn't pan out due to schedule conflicts. While that would have given a different feel altogether, I'm onboard with this younger cast. They're both 25 years old and born 3 days apart. Cast announcements have yet to be made official, so we wait.

Maggie Jiang and Cast Join Wang Kai for Held in the Lonely Castle

Based on a novel with the same name by Milan Lady, Held In The Lonely Castle 孤城闭 is a new Daylight Entertainment production about the fourth emperor of the Song dynasty. He is the longest reigning Song dynasty emperor. Since the announcement that Wang Kai will be leading the drama as Emperor Zhao Zhen, it was only a matter of time before they announced his leading lady. Without further ado, I present to you the rest of the cast. 

I feel Maggie Jiang Shuying as Empress Cao is a perfect fit since her acting is top notch as seen in her previous dramas like To Be A Better Man and A Servant Of Two Masters.

Yang Le will give life to the character of Han Qi. No newcomer to the drama genre, He's mostly known for his role in Growing Up Together.

A relatively new Ren Min will play Princess Huirou. But after her work in Cry Me A Sad River, I'm convinced she can deliver the same acting intensity here.

Ye Zuxin was cast as the eunuch Zhang Maoze. Considering his vast experience in dramas, I'm pretty sure playing a eunuch will be no hurdle for him.

Bian Cheng of Eagles And Youngster fame will play the eunuch Liang Huaiji.

Wang Churan will play Consort Zhang. She has been cast as a supporting character... again. This is her second drama, the first being in Oh My General.

The versatile actor Yu Entai was cast as the poet/calligrapher Yan Shu.

No stranger to TV dramas and mostly remembered for his role in Love of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Sun Jian will play Fu Bi.

Liu Jun who has several dramas under his belt, including Nirvana In Fire 2, will play Fan Zhongyan.

A second drama adaptation of Unrequited Love features a new cast

We're only missing the official announcement now as Hu Yitian (Handsome Siblings), Hu Bingqing (Twenties Once Again) and Zhang Yijie (The King of Blaze) were spotted yesterday at a function to commence filming for Unrequited Love 暗恋橘生淮南, a drama based on another book from Ba Yue Chang An's 八月长安 trilogy. 

It seems natural to turn this into a drama too when the other two adaptations of With You and My Huckleberry Friends were so well-received. There is in fact already a completed web drama based on the same story that is just waiting to air. This version clearly has bigger stars and puts Hu Yitian back in school uniform. Although it is also about a school crush, this feels more like A Love So Beautiful's angsty cousin and brings a different vibe altogether. I'm actually curious to see how it will fare in comparison to the web drama and the two previous adaptations. Update: The booting ceremony was held on Dec. 5 to commence filming.
